OSWEGO, N.Y. -- It was almost deja vu all over again Wednesday night as the Nazareth men's lacrosse team squandered a sizeable lead for the second game in a row before rallying to defeat Oswego, 15-14 in double overtime.

P.J. Rosecrans scored off a pass from Jarod Koopman 39 seconds into the second overtime period to lift the Golden Flyers to the 200th victory in the program's highly successful 17-year history. Rosecrans' goal became necessary after Nazareth had six-goal leads on two separate occasions in the first half only to have Oswego rally to take the lead late in the second half. Nazareth also relinquished a nine-goal lead last Saturday against RIT before falling 14-13.

The host Lakers outscored Nazareth 9-4 in the second half and took a 14-13 lead on an extra-man goal by Adam Phelps with 1:34 left. Nazareth forced overtime on a goal by Koopman off a pass from Jim Quackenbush with 1:06 to play.

The teams played through one scoreless four-minute overtime in which Nazareth managed had two scoring opportunities -- one on a shot by Rosecrans that sailed over the goal, the other on an attempt by Chad Kuczek that was stopped by Oswego goalie Darin Ledwith (20 saves).

In the second overtime, Jeff Monroe controlled the face-off and, after receiving the ball behind the goal, Koopman passed to Rosecrans, who completed the play by scoring his second goal of the game to give Nazareth its second overtime win of the season. Nazareth defeated St. Lawrence, 10-9, March 16.

Justin Wahl led Nazareth with four goals. Koopman and Kuczek each scored three times and Rosecrans had one assist in addition to his two goals. The game also was highlighted by goals from the Sleeman twins, Craig and Ethan.
