SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Third-ranked Nazareth College rallied from a 7-5 deficit to score the game's last four goals to defeat Oneonta in men's lacrosse Friday, 9-7, in a game played at the Carrier Dome.

After Jeff Beckhorn (Henrietta, NY) scored to bring Nazareth to within 7-6 with 7:54 left in the game, the Golden Flyers (2-0) got the tying and go-ahead goals just six seconds apart. First Avery Burke (Homer, NY) scored an extra-man goal off a pass from Brian Roden (Bethpage, NY). Then Nazareth won the ensuing face-off and Josh Lewis (Corning, NY) scored off an assist from Jeff Keys (Fairport, NY). Midfielder Eric Goodberlet (Henrietta, NY) added an insurance goal for the Golden Flyers with 1:51 to play.

Nazareth led 4-3 at halftime, but Oneonta rallied to take a 5-4 lead on third-quarter goals by Brian Dooley and Tom Sansone. The Red Dragons (1-3) still led 7-5 midway through the fourth quarter, before the Golden Flyers rallied.
