NAZARETH REMAINS UNDEFEATED IN MEN'S LACROSSE
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth College overcame an early first-quarter deficit as the Golden Flyers rallied for a 14-6 victory over Ithaca College in a battle of unbeatens in men's lacrosse.

Nazareth, ranked second nationally, stands as the only unbeaten team in all of college lacrosse at 13-0. Ithaca, ranked sixth, fell to 12-1.

Nazareth trailed 4-3 after the first quarter, then outscored the Bombers 11-2 the rest of the way. Junior attackman Chad Kuczek (Auburn HS/Auburn, NY) scored unassisted just 36 seconds into the second quarter to tie the score 4-4. Sophomore midfielder Jim Quackenbush (Penn Yan Academy/Penn Yan, NY) gave Nazareth the lead for good on an unassisted goal at 4:09. Junior attackman Josh Lewis (Corning East HS/Corning, NY) scored twice and P.J. Rosecrans (Niskayuna HS/Schenectady, NY) before the the half ended to put Nazareth in front for good, 8-5.

Kuczek had one goal and one assist in the third quarter as Nazareth scored four more times to build their lead to 12-5. Al Terilli (Rush-Henrietta HS/Henrietta, NY), Eric Goodberlet (Rush-Henrietta HS/Henrietta, NY), and Steve Blount (Jordan-Elbridge HS/Elbridge, NY) also scored.

Sophomore attackman Travis Roost (Willetton HS/Perth, Australia) put the finishing touches on the triumph for Nazareth with two goals in the fourth quarter.

Nazareth outshot Ithaca 60-37 and got 16 saves from senior goalie Rob Carroll (Horseheads HS/Elmira, NY). Terilli finished with two goals and two assists. Goodberlet, Kuczek, Lewis, and Roost also scored twice each.

Nick Mayer (Ward Melville HS/Old Field, NY) had two goals for the Bombers, who also got 16 saves from sophomore goalie Ryan Martin (Amherst Regional/Amherst, MA).
